THE LAST SAD GARDEN OF THE ROMANOVS- IPATIEV MANSION

Mysterious and actual images of the Ipatiev Mansion and its relevant surroundings show-the side wing with  terrasse (balcony) as indicated in diagram of house. The Ipatiev Mansion was  State of the Art Mansion in its day- built for comfortable luxury living and modernized with such innovations for that time- flush toilet, electricity and telephones.Nicholas  Ipatiev the owner who was ousted two days before Nicholas II and Alexandra and Marie were incarcerated (the other sisters and Alexei arrived 3 weeks later)...also returned after the executions and for a short time was given use of three rooms in The House of Special Purpose. he did not stay long. He fled to Japan as he was a wealthy man affiliated, by some sources, with the White Russians.  Other sources  say he returned under Bolshevik rule- perhaps to remove his important papers and belongings? In any case, given the prior to Bolshevik  occupation, the garden must have been cared for and appeared more attractive. Under the Bolsheviks, the garden was filthy- littered with peanut shells spewed by the guards and the excrement of the Romanov pet dogs- who were also walked here- The walks  became increasingly limited and the garden dirtied but the Romanovs longed for any fresh air and even limited exercise- even 1 hour in this sad place.
