On the web, at several locations there is a video with audio identified as Tsar Nicholas's actual voice. The video is terrific and worth seeing BUT I doubt that is Nicholas's voice. Not only is it more strident and harsher than I believe his voice would be- the voice cries out his name-- the Tsar is being hailed with a "hooray! Nicolas Alexandrovich!" It seems unlikely he would hail himself. This sounds more and more like a military officer hailing him...I would bet that Nicholas was soft spoken, with a gentle voice to match his personality.
Thank you Stephen Martin for pointing that out and Mourka Meyendorff for confirming the doubt that it is actually the Tsar.
Watch the video though- it is amazing sequence of Nicholas with troops and the sad image of him in the snow by the train prefigures his abdication. I added this interesting painting which shows the compassionate Nicholas with wounded soldiers
